About the role
The Carpenter is responsible for performing skilled carpentry work on commercial construction projects, supporting both structural and finish work. This role works closely with project managers, superintendents, and other team members to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to HDC quality standards. Additionally, this role contributes directly to project quality, schedule adherence, and overall site productivity while working collaboratively with the HDC construction team.
Responsibilities
- Perform commercial carpentry tasks, including framing, trim, and millwork installation
- Assist with installation of doors, windows, cabinetry, and other finish components
- Read and follow construction plans, specifications, and supervisor direction
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites
- Collaborate effectively with superintendents, project managers, and subcontractors
- Support daily project operations and jobsite efficiency
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Trade school or carpentry certification a plus
- Minimum 3–5 years of carpentry or construction experience preferred
- Prior commercial construction experience highly desirable
Skills
- Strong finish carpentry, framing, or millwork skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings preferred
- Mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and solution-focused
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
