About the role

The Edwardson School of Industrial Engineering at Purdue University invites applications for a Professor of Engineering Practice at the Assistant or Associate rank, based at the Purdue West Lafayette campus. The school seeks candidates with teaching and educational interests and expertise across Industrial Engineering, including Production and Supply Networks, Operations Research, Manufacturing, and Human Factors. The school is ranked 1st in online MS programs, 2nd in undergraduate programs, and 4th in graduate programs (USNWR) and is part of Purdue’s College of Engineering, renowned for top‑notch faculty, research facilities, and a culture of collegiality and preeminence.

Responsibilities

• Teach core undergraduate courses across Industrial Engineering.
• Work effectively with industry partners and faculty.
• Provide mentoring to students and other program support staff.
• Develop experiential learning activities utilizing laboratory facilities.
• Perform service at the School and University levels as needed.

Requirements

• Hold a Ph.D., or an M.S. with more than five years of professional experience, in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Human Factors, Manufacturing, Systems Engineering, or a related field by the employment start date.
• Demonstrable relevant industry experience with evidence of leadership.
