About the role
Serves as a departmental resource for Sterile Processing Department (SPD) and other departments and models excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Expert in all aspects of the sterile processing cycle and provides guidance and education to SPD employees.
- Assumes role and responsibilities Sterile Processing Supervisor when assigned.
- Directs SPD employees to maintain department production requirements.
- Manages case carts and communicates issues to the Sterile Processing Supervisor.
- Communicates with Sterile Processing Supervisor, SPD Liaisons, and/or OR Clinical Coordinators regarding instrument needs.
- Maintains optimal equipment function and reports issues to the Sterile Processing Supervisor and/or appropriate department.
- Maintains departmental compliance logs and assists SPD Manager with policies.
- Assists with special projects and interdepartmental committees as assigned.
- Protects self, co-workers, and facility by following approved policies and procedures to prevent the spread of bloodborne and/or airborne diseases.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent with two years' experience in Sterile Processing.
- Certification as a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT), or other sterile processing certification required.
- Certification in Sterile Processing Management strongly encouraged within three years of hire.
Qualifications
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work with computer programs such as Excel and others as needed.
- Ability to order instruments via PeopleSoft.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of sterile processing procedures and equipment.

Pay
Compensation Base compensation listed within the listed pay range based on factors such as qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and/or training. Premium pay such as shift, on call, and more based on a teammate's job. Opportunity for annual increases based on performance.
Schedule
Full Time, 3pm-11pm
