About the role

Serves as a departmental resource for Sterile Processing Department (SPD) and other departments.

Maintains frequent and ongoing communication with the Sterile Processing Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Expert in all aspects of the sterile processing cycle and provides guidance and education to SPD employees.
  • Assumes role and responsibilities Sterile Processing Supervisor when assigned.
  • Led and directs SPD employees to maintain department production requirements.
  • Communicates issues to the Sterile Processing Supervisor regarding case carts management.
  • Ensures equipment is functioning optimally and reports issues to the Sterile Processing Supervisor and/or appropriate department.
  • Assists Sterile Processing Supervisor with maintenance of departmental compliance logs.
  • Aids SPD Manager with implementation and enforcement of departmental policies.
  • Assists with special projects and interdepartmental committees as assigned.
  • Protects self, co-workers and facility by following approved policies and procedures to prevent the spread of bloodborne and/or airborne disease(s).

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent with two years' experience in Sterile Processing.
  • Certification as a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT), or other sterile processing certification required.
  • Certification in Sterile Processing Management strongly encouraged within three years of hire.

Qualifications

  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work with computer programs such as Excel and others as needed.
  • Ability to order instruments via PeopleSoft.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to protect self, co-workers and facility.

Pay

Compensation Base compensation listed within the listed pay range based on factors such as qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and/or training.

Premium pay such as shift, on call, and more based on a teammate's job.

Incentive pay for select positions.

Opportunity for annual increases based on performance.

Schedule

Full Time, 3pm-11pm
