Job Cost Accountant

About the role

Manage project finances from initial budgeting through completion. Coordinate with Operations, Sales, and Accounting to gather and provide necessary financial information. Manage multiple priorities to complete tasks accurately while meeting deadlines, demonstrating sound judgment and problem-solving with minimal assistance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret statistical and accounting information to evaluate operating results, such as profitability and trends.
• Perform product cost analysis, prepare reports, and communicate findings to various departments.
• Serve as a strategic partner to management by providing insights and recommendations based on cost analysis.
• Maintain data and determine cost standards for all products, providing cost data for new or changed products.
• Record specific entries like efficiency variance and cost of sales.
• Execute all equipment sales orders and contracts, including reviewing order packages for accuracy and completeness.
• Create system order entry, purchase orders, work orders, and manage the receipt of purchase orders and approval of invoices.
• Responsible for inventory control and maintenance, as well as purchasing stock and custom inventory.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Cost Accounting Principles.
• Skilled in using financial software and tools.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex financial information and data results.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required; Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Combining experience in accounting, cost accounting, or finance practices of 2 or more years with education is desirable.
• Previous experience with cost accounting preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• In-office environment.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities and requires no planned business travel.
