Duties/Responsibilities & Essential Functions
- Consistently model appropriate work maturity skills and hold consumers to the same expectations.
- Uphold standards of work contract at all times, which may include finding a substitute if the individual with disability leaves early or is absent.
- Provide services to participants without discrimination as to race, religion, sex, age or disabling condition.
- Monitor consumer's work performance and provide feedback and prompts when needed.
- Provide proper documentation on all participant's work performance as related to their IEP.
- Ensure safety is being maintained in the work environment at all times.
- Contact your direct supervisor with as much notice as possible if ill, or in the event of an emergency.
- Maintain and model positive, professional working relationships with consumers and other agency staff.
- Willing and able to substitute consumer service for other job coaches when needed.
- Through work performance evaluations, demonstrate a solid working knowledge of most frequently encountered disabilities of participants and the ability to provide specific, quality service for them.
- Willing and able to work with participants with incontinence and/or personal cares, in a respectful and professional manner when necessary.
- Operate equipment (e.g., copier, typewriter, computer, laminator, etc.).
- Participate, cooperate, and help supervise emergency preparedness drills (e.g. tornado, fire, etc.).
- Use positive guidance techniques to foster development of self-control, self-esteem, and positive social interactions.
- Affords assistance to students with handicap devices and equipment.
- Performs delegated nursing duties as directed by Registered Nurse according to Board Policy and DODD Policy and Guidelines.
- Carries out established behavioral plans as approved by the team.
- Maintains required certificates and licenses, including an Ohio Driver's License and Van Certification.
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
- Attends appropriate workshops and professional meetings.
- Performs duties in conformity to the adopted Board Policy.
- Displays professional appearance.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Valid Ohio Educational Aide Certificate (may be obtained after employment).
- Must possess valid Ohio driver's license and able to be van certified.
- Must pass criminal background check.
Conditions Of Employment
- Effective Date: 2026/2027 school year - 8/10/2026
- Terms of Employment: One-year probationary contract.
- Hours of Work: 6 hours per day / 193 Day contract
- Salary and Benefits: Starting salary $18.55/hour and benefits as approved in the current negotiated agreement.
