High School Spring Coaching Positions for Central High School
All assignments are contingent upon sufficient number of participants and funding. Positions will remain open until filled.
Pay
Salaries are listed as Step 1, Step 2, and Step 3. A coach is paid at Step 1 during the first year of supervising the activity, Step 2 during the second year, and Step 3 beginning the third year. Salaries are based on the current collective bargaining agreement.
- Baseball, Assistant Coach (JV): $1,803.00 (Step 1), $2,050.00 (Step 2), $2,378.00 (Step 3)
- Baseball, Assistant Coach (FR): $1,883.00 (Step 1), $2,050.00 (Step 2), $2,378.00 (Step 3)
Responsibilities
- Oversee sport and travel program
- Select team for travel season
- Develop daily practice schedule
- Supervise students at all times
- Check on eligibility of all athletes
- Check attendance daily
- Establish rules and expectations for athletes
- Supervise students to away games on bus
- Issue equipment and collect it at the end of the season
- Secure building permits
- Be aware of MSSADA Rules and Regulations
CPR training and completion of the "Concussion in Sports" course is required.
Requirements
- Knowledge of the sport or activity
- Good communication skills
- Ability to successfully instruct and encourage athletes
- CPR/First Aid and Coaches Education certification
- Concussion certification
