Essential Functions
- Coach, teach, monitor and provide support to individual at their work site.
- Provide individualized training to assist in the mastering of their assigned job duties.
- Identify and communicate potential barriers to the success of the individual.
- Provide guidance to in learning to integrate with other employees and environment.
- Aid in developing and enhancing communication with other employees and their supervisors.
- Aid in developing necessary skills to be successful in the workplace.
- Provide detailed and objective documentation of performance, establish short-term goals for improvement, monitor progress and provide regular feedback in accordance with established department/agency guidelines.
- Celebrate successes and identify areas for growth in order to be successful in the workplace.
- Communicate regularly with VIA staff.

Qualifications
- NYS Driver’s License and reliable transportation OR the ability to travel effectively within assigned geographic area required.
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Previous successful work experience required.
- Experience working with people who are blind/visually impaired preferred but not required.
