JJYS Technician II - SouthWest Youth Center
About the role
The role involves working closely with youth ordered into the care and custody of JJYS, monitoring visitors and residents, scheduling and coordinating activities, assisting the Control Supervisor, resolving potentially dangerous situations, transporting youth, and participating in training.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with youth ordered into the care and custody of JJYS
- Monitor visitors and residents within the facility
- Schedule and coordinate activities for the youth
- Auxiliary to the Control Supervisor by making perimeter checks
- Resolve potentially dangerous situations to ensure the safety of staff, clients, and the public
- Apply appropriate intervention techniques to people, facilities, and property
- Transport youth offenders while ensuring public safety
- Communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely in writing
Qualifications
- Minimum requirements: 19 years of age or older, high school diploma or GED, valid Utah Driver's License
- Prior experience not required but preference given to candidates with experience

- Availability to work rotating shifts, days, swing, graveyard, weekends and holidays
- Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely in writing
