About the role

Juvenile Justice Area Coordinator at Siouxland Youth for Christ. Builds relationships throughout the court system, community, and regional churches to impact juveniles. Time will be spent on relational ministry, volunteer leadership development, community partnership development, and administration.

Responsibilities

  • 25% relational ministry focus: meet weekly with new students, build ongoing relationships, lead small groups, and serve Juvenile Court Officers and others involved in the Juvenile system.
  • 45% volunteer leadership development: recruit, train, and support leaders through living life together.
  • 20% community partnership development: create a network of individuals, churches, businesses, and other partners that fund, support, volunteer for, and guide the ministry.
  • 10% administration and reporting: ensure effective communication, tracking, growth, and unity amongst the Siouxland YFC Team.

Requirements

  • Gifted in navigating multicultural and socially diverse environments.
  • A working understanding of the Juvenile Justice system.
  • A degree in Juvenile Justice, Social Work, or a similar area is preferred.
  • Understanding of Trauma Informed Care with students who approach life with trauma-framed experiences.
  • An active, growing relationship with Jesus Christ, with the ability to share their faith.
  • Able to recruit and assimilate volunteers.
  • Experience in teaching and training others.
  • Assist in spiritual growth, attitude, accountability, and team relationships to foster the greatest possible team unity.
  • Develop existing programs and create new programs in coordination with the Ministry Director & Regional Director.
  • Develop and lead a Community Support Team.

Qualifications

  • Seek God’s guidance and wisdom through prayer and meditation.
  • Participate and lead regular times of prayer, devotion, and worship.
  • Teach and preach from the Holy Bible at YFC staff meetings, conferences, camps, and events.
  • Model empathy, humility, and care for all people, promoting equity and inclusion.
  • Be commissioned or licensed as a minister of the Gospel through the established Youth for Christ process, or ordained by an outside body recognized by Youth for Christ USA.

Pay

$41,000 - $46,000 plus Field and Travel benefits (up to $10,000) negotiable depending on experience.
