JIB Accountant

About the role

The JIB Accountant position at Permian Resources is a permanent role located in Midland, Texas. Reporting to the JIB Supervisor, this role involves general JIB accounting duties such as recording non-operated JIBs and preparing monthly billing entries.

Responsibilities

• Review, code, and process non-operated JIBs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with JOAs or COPAS.
• Dispute items not allowable and make inquiries of the Operator for inaccuracies.
• Identify and communicate WI discrepancies to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare standard monthly JIB entries, including reclass journal entries, company owned equipment, well control insurance, monthly overhead, and material transfers.
• Set up cost centers and AFEs.
• Understand and apply revenue netting amounts to JIB-AR balances.
• Track, research, and reclassify predrilling costs recorded to a holding AFE.
• Pull audit support, as needed.
• Assist in answering working interest owner questions timely and accurately.
• Provide support for special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in oil and gas operational accounting.
• Quorum accounting software experience.
• Experience utilizing AI tools and technologies to improve efficiency, automate processes, and support data analysis.
• EnergyLink experience.
