About the Role

Before transitioning to education, I worked at an investment bank as the Director of Training and Development, where I taught adults in the private sector. My journey into teaching children began about 18 years ago, driven by a personal connection to learning challenges.

My youngest daughter is dyslexic and was diagnosed in first grade. To better support her, I took classes to understand her learning challenges, which allowed me to advocate for her at school and assist her at home. This experience inspired me to work in education, focusing on helping students overcome similar obstacles.

What I Find Rewarding

I enjoy working with students and witnessing their growth as they connect with the material and discover their own skills and abilities. Seeing students excel is incredibly fulfilling.

Engaging Students

We strive to create a comfortable environment in the Learning Center where students feel at ease asking for assistance. Our goal is to make learning accessible and supportive.

Hopes for Students

I hope students leave my classes with a deeper understanding of themselves, knowledge of available resources, and the self-advocacy skills needed to seek support. My aim is to empower them to become the best students they can be.

Recharging and Inspiration

Outside the classroom, I recharge by spending time with friends and family. I also enjoy reading and taking continuing education classes to stay current in my field.
