About the role

Operate a bagging machine to fill bags with products, ensure proper labeling and weight, and verify bags pass through a metal detector. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the shift supervisor or department manager.

Responsibilities

• Ensure batch numbers and product codes on labels match the product being dumped.
• Stack bags neatly on skids, placing them on the correct skid color.
• Return any unused labels to the Supervisor for recording.
• Clean the machine and work area as required.
• Detect and report any malfunction of the metal detector or rollers to the supervisor.
• Comply with all safety requirements and company policies.
• Report all shortages to the lead operator.
• Notify supervisor and QC tech if the metal detector goes off.
• Calibrate floor scale for accurate weights.
• Consistently lift 20–40 lb bags.
• Operate an automatic palletizer.
• Ensure product samples are given to QC tech every 5th pallet.
• Ensure Load Moved tickets are signed or initialed.
• Complete pack-list for traceability.
• Climb step ladders as required.
• Perform sanitation of all packaging equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Knowledge of food manufacturing preferred.
• Able to communicate well verbally and in writing, with good mathematical skills.
• Able to lift 50 lbs continuously.

Work Environment

The job is performed in production areas with exposure to strong aromas, airborne dust particles from ingredients, and operating machinery.

Pay

Starting at $19.18–$22.57 an hour.
