This role involves assisting with workshop activities, mentoring participants, leading ensemble rehearsals, and providing performance guidance. You will collaborate closely with other faculty and students, contributing to a dynamic learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Help facilitate and perform at Jazz Combo Workshop.
- Assisting with workshop activities, mentoring participants, leading ensemble rehearsals, and providing performance guidance.
Requirements
- Master's degree in academic discipline and 4 years of experience consulting with faculty engaging on students in learning experiences that incorporate authentic learning activities; or any equivalent combination of experience/education/training.
- Knowledge, Skills And Abilities: Advanced knowledge of jazz performance and pedagogy; strong skills in ensemble direction, improvisation, and sight-reading; effective communication and mentoring abilities; a collaborative spirit and a passion for education.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Jazz Performance or 5 years experience as a performing jazz musician.
Skills
- Advanced knowledge of jazz performance and pedagogy.
- Strong skills in ensemble direction, improvisation, and sight-reading.
- Effective communication and mentoring abilities.
- A collaborative spirit and a passion for education.
