Jazz Band Director

Responsibilities

• Directs and manages the operation of Jazz Band Ensemble in coordination with the Performing Arts Department.
• Leads band rehearsals and performances.
• Schedules performances.
• Manages equipment.
• Manages uniforms/attire.
• Performs administrative work associated with maintaining lists of students, grading etc.
• Manages expenditures.
• Maintains music library organization.

Requirements

• Compensation Per Course: $14,000 - $15,500
• Courses meet in person.
• Rehearsals are 2 hours a week, plus individual coaching sessions with students for up to 2 more hours.
• Additional performances, recruiting, and management responsibilities take up to 10 additional hours per week for a total of up to 15 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in music or related field preferred.
• Established Band Musician/Leader Experience with jazz, rock, GB, pit and other bands.
• Ability to provide vision necessary for the growth of a band program on the Endicott campus.
• Teaching experience in higher education or equivalent.
• Ability to lift and move thirty pounds.
