Java Technical Lead
About The Role
As a Java Technical Lead, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and leading the delivery of scalable Java applications and AI-powered solutions leveraging Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and multi-agent AI technologies. You will be a valued member of the engineering team and work collaboratively with product owners, architects, technical leads, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, innovative, and high-performing solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and enhancement of enterprise-grade Java applications using modern software engineering principles and reusable architecture.
- Configure and support multi-agent AI solutions using Claude AI and cloud-native services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Translate business and product requirements into technical solutions and actionable development tasks through active participation in Agile ceremonies.
- Drive automated testing, CI/CD implementation, and deployment best practices to improve software quality, reliability, and delivery speed.
- Promote secure coding standards, identify vulnerabilities, and implement remediation measures while ensuring operational excellence.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Java and related technologies.
- Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including compute, storage, messaging, and managed cloud services.
- Experience designing, configuring, and supporting AI-powered or multi-agent systems, preferably using Claude AI or similar Large Language Model (LLM) platforms.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Cloud Build, or similar technologies.
- Strong expertise with Git-based source code management, branching strategies, code reviews, and release management.
- Experience developing and maintaining automated unit, integration, and functional testing frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to identify security vulnerabilities and implement secure coding best practices.
- Experience automating development and operational processes through scripting and tooling.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work directly with product teams and business partners.
- Proven leadership, accountability, and ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare, pharmacy technology, or other regulated industries.
- Knowledge of RXConnect or similar pharmacy domain platforms.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring solutions, including logging, tracing, and alerting tools within GCP environments.
- Knowledge of API design, microservices architecture, distributed systems, and event-driven application design.
Skills

Pay
The annual salary for this position is between $100,000 - $150,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
Schedule
This is a remote position open to qualified applicants in Woonsocket, Rhode Island or within the United States.
