Java Software Engineer

About the role

Responsibilities

• Work alongside a team of developers to develop and validate software on projects in accordance with Company specifications and requirements.
• Evaluate, clarify, and understand requirements documents and functional specifications.
• Quickly troubleshoot coding issues to ensure a productive workplace.
• Create, update, and maintain appropriate application and code documentation.
• Lead tasks and projects based on requirements and direction from manager.
• Effectively work in a team environment by collaborating and contributing to the team’s commitments and initiatives.
• Aid in continuous improvement of processes and procedures within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Requirements

• At least 3-5 or more years of experience developing object-oriented, enterprise-level Java applications, preferably using tools/software such as JavaScript, Python, Spring, Hibernate, JQuery, Bootstrap, SQL, Oracle, RabbitMQ, and RESTful API. React and WebComponents are helpful.
• Experience in an Agile environment is preferred.
• Education: Associates degree in MIS or Computer Science (Bachelor’s degree preferred).

Skills

• Excellent communication on a technical and business level;
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel;
• Experience with GIS (Geographical Information Systems) is highly desired along with knowledge of ESRI’s JavaScript API.
