Java Software Engineer

About the role

The Java Software Engineer role is a full-time remote position focused on designing, developing, and maintaining Java-based applications and services.

Responsibilities

• writing clean, efficient, and testable code
• implementing and maintaining microservices
• integrating applications with other systems using the Spring Framework and related tools
• collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements
• participating in code reviews
• troubleshooting issues to ensure high performance and reliability of software solutions

• staying current with best practices and emerging technologies in Java and cloud-native development

Qualifications

• Strong software development skills, including experience with software design, implementation, and debugging
• Proficiency in Java and core programming concepts such as object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms
• Hands-on experience with the Spring Framework and related technologies for building enterprise and web applications
• Knowledge of microservices architecture, including building, deploying, and maintaining distributed services
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, relational or NoSQL databases, and basic application security practices
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and communicate clearly with distributed teams
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), or CI/CD pipelines is a plus
