Java Lead developer

About the role

Lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade insurance applications using Java full stack technologies, microservices architecture, and AWS cloud platforms, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end full stack development using Java (Spring Boot) + UI frameworks (React/Angular)
• Define and drive microservices-based architecture and API strategy
• Provide technical mentorship, conduct code reviews, and enforce best practices
• Design and implement cloud-native applications on AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS)
• Build scalable RESTful APIs and event-driven microservices architectures
• Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and performance optimization
• Define solution architecture, integration patterns, and system workflows
• Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and technical planning
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Integrate with insurance platforms (Guidewire)
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Ensure code quality through testing, automation, and reviews

Required Skills

• Core Java (Java 8/11+)
• Spring Boot, Spring Cloud
• Microservices architecture & REST APIs
• Frontend: React / Angular / TypeScript / JavaScript
• Experience building distributed systems and scalable applications
• Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes
• CI/CD tools: Jenkins / GitHub / GitLab
• Cloud & DevOps: Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway)
• Experience in P&C or Life Insurance systems
• Strong mix of hands-on coding + architecture + team leadership
