Java Lead (AMS support experience))

About The Role

As a Java Lead, you will make an impact by leading the design, development, support, and continuous improvement of scalable enterprise applications built with Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Angular, AWS, and Oracle technologies. You will be a valued member of the Technology & Engineering team and work collaboratively with engineering teams, business stakeholders, and cross-functional partners to deliver reliable, maintainable solutions that support critical business operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end application design, development, and support for complex enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Angular, AWS, and Oracle technologies.
• Improve application performance and reliability by analyzing bottlenecks, optimizing database interactions, strengthening monitoring and alerting practices, and supporting effective incident response.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions that align with existing systems, integration needs, and business goals.
• Promote high-quality delivery through code reviews, automated testing practices, standardized release processes, documentation, and structured management of technical debt.

Requirements

• AWS cloud services experience in enterprise application environments.
• Experience with Oracle databases, including integration, performance tuning, or database interaction optimization.
• Knowledge of containerization, version control workflows, configuration management, and modern release practices.
• Experience with automated testing, code quality practices, monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
• Exposure to transportation and logistics domain.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Experience with Angular for front-end or full-stack application development.
• Strong working knowledge of Python.

Qualifications

To be considered, you must have AMS Support Lead experience and strong hands-on experience with Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, and Microservices. Experience with Angular for front-end or full-stack application development, AWS cloud services, Oracle databases, containerization, version control workflows, configuration management, and modern release practices is preferred. Exposure to transportation and logistics domain is also beneficial.

Pay

The annual salary for this position is between $65,447 to $117,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Schedule

This is a hybrid position requiring 3-4 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Atlanta, GA. The working arrangements for this role are accurate as of the date of posting. This may change based on the project you’re engaged in, as well as business and client requirements.
