About the role

This position is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining large, complex systems using Java and object-oriented design principles. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with microservices, Spring Boot, and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain large, complex systems using Java and object-oriented design principles
• Lead microservices development projects, including API development and testing
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement containerization, cloud services, and CI/CD pipelines
• Implement security measures and integrate security practices into CI/CD pipelines
• Collaborate with InfoSec teams to remediate vulnerabilities and manage risk
• Use AI-assisted tools for code analysis and remediation

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in design, development, and triaging for large, complex systems
• Strong Java and object-oriented design skills
• 5+ years of microservices development experience
• 3+ years of experience working with Spring Boot
• Hands-on experience building microservices-based applications using Spring Boot, REST, and JSON
• 3+ years of DevOps experience, including containers, cloud, automation, security, configuration management, and CI/CD
• Experience with streaming technologies like Apache Kafka
• Exposure to emerging technologies such as AI Copilot and AI Agents

Qualifications

• Strong secure coding practices with knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and remediation of common CWE patterns
• Hands-on experience with application security tools such as Fortify, Black Duck/FOSSA, and SonarQube
• Proven experience integrating security into CI/CD pipelines (DevSecOps)
• Familiarity with open-source and supply chain security practices, including SBOMs and third-party risk management
• Experience collaborating with InfoSec, platform, and DevOps teams to remediate vulnerabilities across applications and dependencies
• Experience with AI-assisted code analysis and remediation tools
• Experience with PractiTest, Playwright, AI-assisted development, and Spec-Driven Development (SDD)
