Java Developer with Python and Kong API Gateway

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Developer with Python and Kong API Gateway expertise to join our team at a leading client based in Malvern, PA. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience, with a focus on backend microservices development in Java (Spring Boot) or Python, Kong API Gateway configuration, and AWS services.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend microservices using Java (Spring Boot) or Python
• Configure and manage Kong API Gateway (Enterprise, OSS, or Kong Konnect)
• Design and implement RESTful APIs following OpenAPI Specification (Swagger) and event-driven architecture
• Implement contract validation and security measures such as OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, SAML, TLS/mTLS, and rate limiting
• Work with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and CI/CD pipelines
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure API solutions

Requirements

• Proven experience with AWS core services including EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, IAM, and VPC
• Strong SQL and NoSQL skills (PostgreSQL, Aurora, DynamoDB)
• Experience with CI/CD tools

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
