Java Developer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer for a contract-only, W2 position based in Charlotte, NC. This is a hybrid/onsite role requiring local candidates with immediate interview availability.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java applications.
• Build Spring Boot Microservices and REST APIs.
• Develop integrations between internal and external systems.
• Implement Kafka-based asynchronous and event-driven solutions.
• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Containerize and deploy applications using Docker & Kubernetes.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement secure applications using Spring Security, OAuth2, and JWT.
• Write unit, integration, and automated tests.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Participate in code reviews, Agile ceremonies, and application modernization.
• Collaborate with Architects, QA, DevOps, Business Analysts, and Product teams.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience as a Java Developer.
• Proficiency in Core Java (Java 8, 11, 17+), OOP, Collections, Multithreading, and Java Streams.
• Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Framework.
• Expertise in Microservices & REST APIs.
• Knowledge of Spring Data JPA / Hibernate.
• Strong SQL skills with Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.
• Experience with Kafka or other messaging systems.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with Docker & Kubernetes.
• CI/CD pipeline development using Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Proficiency in Git, Maven, or Gradle.
• Experience with JUnit and Mockito for testing.
• Agile/Scrum methodology.

Nice to have

• Spring Security, OAuth2, JWT.
• Redis or other caching solutions.
• MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
• AWS services: EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch.
• Event-driven architecture.
• Cloud-native development.
• Performance tuning and JVM optimization.

• Exposure to React or Angular.
