Java Developer
About the Role
Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications and microservices using Spring Boot and related frameworks. Build and enhance RESTful APIs to support enterprise business processes and service-to-service communication. Develop backend business logic, data access layers, and integration components leveraging Java, Spring Boot, and Oracle Database. Write clean, secure, maintainable, and testable code that aligns with team standards and best practices.
Participate in application design discussions, API contract definitions, technical documentation, code reviews, and implementation planning. Troubleshoot and resolve application issues across development, testing, and production environments, including root-cause analysis and performance tuning. Support application reliability, availability, monitoring, logging, and operational readiness for systems supporting financial services.
Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, QA, DevOps, architects, and fellow developers to deliver value through iterative development. Engage in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives. Identify opportunities to enhance code quality, automation, performance, supportability, and efficiency for continuous improvement. Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver value through iterative development.

Requirements
- Proven experience in backend development with Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
- Strong understanding of enterprise application delivery and full software development lifecycle.
- Proficiency with RESTful API development and microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with Oracle Database, including SQL, stored procedures, and query optimization.
- Ability to write clean, testable, and secure code following standardized practices.
- Experience troubleshooting issues and tuning performance in complex environments.
- Effective communication skills to articulate technical details across diverse teams.
- Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken).
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Angular or other modern frontend frameworks, with an understanding of UI/API interactions.
- Experience within financial services sectors such as banking, lending, payments, risk, or compliance.
- Knowledge of enterprise security/authentication mechanisms including OAuth/OIDC, JWT, and API gateways.
- Exposure to containerized or cloud-native deployment environments like Kubernetes or GCP.
- Familiarity with messaging systems such as Kafka or IBM MQ.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools, including Elastic, Grafana, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of DevOps practices, automated deployment pipelines, and environment configuration.
- Ability to contribute to technical documentation and operational runbooks.
- Awareness of regulated environment standards, including auditability, access control, data protection, and change management.
