job Title: Java Backend Developer (Kotlin + Spring Boot) Job Type: Contract(C2C/W2/1099) Location: New York City, NY Job Description We are seeking a skilled Java Backend Developer with strong expertise in Kotlin and Spring Boot. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with Java 17 or, at minimum, a solid understanding of its principles. This role involves building and enhancing high-performance backend applications, optimizing scalability, and ensuring reliability in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities Develop and maintain robust, scalable backend solutions using Java and Kotlin.Utilize Spring Boot for API development, microservices, and backend logic.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders.Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, with attention to test-driven development and best coding practices.Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance application performance, addressing issues as they arise.Implement best practices for security, data integrity, and optimization.Contribute to architecture and design decisions that improve the scalability, flexibility, and reliability of applications. Qualifications Proven experience in Java backend development, with specific skills in Kotlin and Spring Boot.Strong knowledge of Java 17 (ideally) or extensive experience with prior versions of Java and familiarity with Java 17 principles.Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and service-oriented architecture (SOA).Proficiency in relational and/or NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
