About the role
The Java Application Developer position is part of the Incedo team, which builds highly scalable, cloud-native enterprise applications for Fortune 500 clients. This role plays a key role in designing and developing distributed systems, collaborating with various teams, and contributing to architectural decisions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver high-quality Java-based enterprise applications.
- Build scalable, cloud-native distributed systems using modern software engineering principles.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to define technical roadmaps and implementation strategies.
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions.
- Champion engineering excellence through code reviews, coding standards, automated testing, and best practices.
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership.
- Collaborate closely with QA, DevOps, and Documentation teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across global locations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related Engineering discipline.
- 8+ years of experience designing and developing enterprise-grade Java applications.
- Strong knowledge of Core Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, RESTful APIs, and Distributed Systems.
- Strong understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, Object-Oriented Design, and Design Patterns.
- Experience building scalable cloud-native applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience working with managed cloud databases.
- Proven experience leading development initiatives from design through production deployment.
- Ability to mentor engineers and lead technical discussions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Kubernetes and containerized deployments.
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as Cassandra.
- Experience with messaging platforms such as Amazon SQS or Apache Kafka.
- Knowledge of cloud security principles and secure application development.
- Experience with Big Data technologies.
- Experience building SaaS platforms and customer-facing enterprise products.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.
