Japanese Language Expert

6-month contract (extendable) for a remote, full-time role (8 hours/day). Start date: late July to early August. Open to any graduate with Japanese N2 certification and 3+ years of experience.

About the role

We’re looking for a Japanese Language Expert to join our team and contribute to a cutting-edge voice-assistant project.

Responsibilities

• Enhance NLP components with linguistic expertise in Japanese grammar, sentence formation, and culturally relevant expressions.
• Curate and annotate Japanese datasets for training speech-recognition models.
• Analyze audio samples to provide feedback on accent, tone, and intent.
• Conduct quality checks to resolve language-specific issues.

Requirements

• Native proficiency in Japanese, with strong English communication skills.
• Expertise in Japanese grammar, sentence structure, and cultural nuances, with a focus on computational linguistics.
• Experience in automatic speech recognition (ASR) and collaborating with data scientists or ML engineers.
