Japanese Language Expert

About the role

We're looking for a Japanese Language Expert on a contractual basis (6 months to start with) to join our team and contribute to a cutting-edge voice assistant project. Start date is late July to early August, with full-time availability (8 hours/day) required. This is a remote/work-from-home position.

What You'll Do

• Enhance NLP components with linguistic expertise in Japanese grammar, sentence formation, and culturally relevant expressions
• Curate and annotate Japanese datasets for training speech recognition models
• Analyze audio samples to provide feedback on accent, tone, and intent
• Conduct quality checks to resolve language-specific issues

Qualifications

• Any Graduate
• Japanese N2 certification
• 3+ years of experience
• Native proficiency in Japanese, with strong English communication skills
• Expertise in Japanese grammar, sentence structure, and cultural nuances, with a focus on computational linguistics
• Experience in automatic speech recognition (ASR) and collaborating with data scientists or ML engineers

Employment type: 6 months contract (extendable)
