About the role

Touchmark in the West Hills is Portland’s leading full-service retirement community, enriching the lives of residents and their families through five-star hospitality, services, and amenities. We are currently seeking a compassionate person to join our talented team as a Janitorial Technician.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all interior and exterior areas of our beautiful campus are attractive, clean, and well-maintained.
  • Monitor the garbage and recycling areas on campus.
  • Clean windows, remove cobwebs, and remove snow and/or ice.
  • Maintain the swimming pool (chemicals, temperature, and cleanliness).
  • Empty garbage receptacles.
  • Perform a variety of custodial duties, including stripping, waxing, and buffing floors.
  • Clean carpets.
  • Sanitize kitchen and lavatory facilities.
  • Assist with housekeeping duties as needed.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience maintaining and cleaning swimming pools.
  • A “can-do” attitude towards their work and a passion for maintaining a five-star site appearance.
  • Willingness to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • The ability to lift and work with up to 50 pounds throughout a shift using proper lifting techniques.

Qualifications

  • The ability to read, write, and speak English in order to effectively communicate with residents and team members.
  • The physical ability to perform tasks that require continuous walking, standing, bending, and lifting.
  • The ability to maintain patient and tactful composure when dealing with residents, family members, staff members, and visitors.

  • Basic computer skills.

Pay

$20.29 to $21.23 per hour DOE

Schedule

Full-time position. Tuesday through Saturday.
