Janitorial Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping and janitorial duties to maintain offices, restrooms, and public areas in clean and orderly condition.
• Remove trash from offices and other work areas.
• Stripping and waxing of floors, burnishing waxed floors, cleaning, and maintaining carpeted floors, and floor scrubbing of ceramic tile floors.
• Absorb and assist other service personnel with minor facility service repairs.
• Follow established routine.
• Use hand tools and cleaning machinery on a daily basis such as floor sweepers and brooms.
• Work all shifts including holidays and weekends as demanded by the job.
• Comply with all company / customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Achieve performance expectations set forth as part of performance appraisals to include employee development planning.
• Maintain positive customer and employee relations.

Requirements

• Two years’ experience in Janitorial / Custodial applications desirable.

Substantial lifting (up to 50 pounds) is required Ability to move for extended or continuous periods of time Ability to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools Ability to operate applicable hand tools, power tools, and equipment Ability to operate forklifts or other vehicles in a safe manner Ability to wear a respirator while performing job duties Communication/ Expression —The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Information Ordering — The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).

The compensation for the position is: $18.94 - $22.28
