Janitorial Site Safety Officer
About the role
The janitorial Site Safety Officer supports safe operations, ensures compliance with regulatory standards, and promotes a strong safety culture across CW's facility.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of work areas, equipment, storage rooms, and chemical stations to identify hazards and ensure safe operations.
- Ensure adherence to OSHA standards, company policies, and site-specific safety requirements.
- Maintain safety logs, incident reports, inspection records, and follow-up documentation for concerns, near-misses, and incidents.
- Train staff on safety procedures, chemical handling, equipment use, and emergency protocols; lead toolbox talks, refresher trainings, and safety briefings.
- Communicate safety updates, policy changes, corrective actions, and serve as the on-site contact for safety questions or issues.
- Support response efforts for spills, biohazards, equipment issues, and other safety-related events.
- Collaborate with site leadership to enhance safety processes and reduce risk across the facility.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in janitorial, custodial, facilities, or environmental services.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in safety practices or compliance, such as conducting inspections, supporting safety programs, or assisting with OSHA-related requirements.
- OSHA 30-hour certification in Construction or General Industry Safety.
- Familiarity with incident reporting, documentation, or workplace safety protocols, even if in a supporting capacity.
- Valid Real ID.
- Valid Driver License.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain government base access.

Schedule
Work primarily indoors within commercial facilities where temperature, lighting, dust, dirt, allergens, and noise levels may vary, including exposure to vacuums, floor buffers, and other machinery with hearing protection provided when needed.
Physical & Environmental Demands
- Lifting & Carrying: Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 25–30 pounds, with occasional heavier handling supported by team members or equipment.
- Movement & Posture: Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching throughout the shift, including repetitive motions such as mopping, sweeping, wiping, and scrubbing, and the ability to safely navigate stairs, ramps, and uneven flooring while carrying supplies.
- Work Environment: Work primarily indoors within commercial facilities where temperature, lighting, dust, dirt, allergens, and noise levels may vary, including exposure to vacuums, floor buffers, and other machinery with hearing protection provided when needed.
- Chemical & Safety Exposure: Exposure to cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, solvents, and occasional biohazardous materials or bodily fluids, with all required training, safety protocols, and PPE provided.
