Janitorial Porter

About the role

Kellermeyer Bergensons Services (KBS) is the largest privately held provider of facility services in North America. The Porter provides excellent cleaning services, often requiring interaction with customers and prioritizing work based on daily needs. The role involves high‑volume, heavy‑traffic sites or individual crew assignments, maintaining excellent customer relations while executing requests and daily janitorial duties. The Porter has broad knowledge of cleaning and janitorial processes, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to lead and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily janitorial duties and cleaning tasks in high‑traffic environments.
• Interact directly with customers, address requests, and maintain strong customer relations.
• Prioritize work based on customer needs and site requirements.
• Lead and provide solutions to various problems as they arise.
• Follow safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and chemical handling procedures.
• Use KBSPresence mobile timekeeping software for clocking in/out, attendance management, and required training.
• Other responsibilities as directed by manager.

Requirements

• Ability to lift and move totes up to 49 pounds.
• Walk throughout the facility frequently and stand/walk for up to 10‑12 hours per shift.
• Ability to follow detailed or written instructions.
• Read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, and chemical safety sheets (English; Spanish where required).
• Effective communication with internal and external customers.
• Use of personal mobile device for KBSPresence app; cell‑phone reimbursement provided as required by law.

Pay

$17.00 per hour – $17.42 per hour (hourly, non‑exempt).
