JANITORIAL MAINTENANCE WORKER - IN HOUSE JANITORIAL

Schedule

Location: New Windsor, NY. Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.

Pay

$18.04 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Floor care (knowledge of buffer machines and floor scrubbers helpful)
• Keep restrooms cleaned, sanitized, and stocked
• Handle trash and recyclables
• Carpet cleaning (use of carpet extractor)
• Clean all windows
• Light painting and repairs
• Vacuuming and dusting
• Keep walkways free of snow, ice, and debris
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Communicate effectively, openly, and honestly with staff and leaders on a consistent basis

This position will also assist with office moves or special cleaning projects as directed by the supervisor, and may assist in the setup for on‑site events.

Qualifications

• Great attention to detail
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to quickly assess and react to situations requiring a custodial remedy

Requirements

• Previous experience in the janitorial field, preferably in an office/industrial setting
• Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license
• Capable of standing for long periods of time
• Able to lift a mop bucket full of water over obstacles
• Capable of moving throughout the work day
• Able to climb stairs
• Able to lift arms overhead to reach high places
• Able to move in tight spaces
• Frequent lifting of 25+ pounds
