Janitorial Laborer

About the role

Rhoads Industries is seeking a Janitorial Laborer to join our dynamic, fast-paced, and growing team. This role supports our operations by performing various tasks including cleaning, maintaining, and ensuring a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
• Clean the interior of buildings in designated areas such as restrooms, locker rooms, offices, lobbies, and kitchens.
• Cleaning around machinery and shop floors.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, vacuums, mops, and other custodial tools safely and effectively.
• Accurately document completed work and report issues, safety concerns, or supply needs to supervision in a timely manner.
• Maintain a thorough inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs as well as unsafe conditions.
• Disinfect high touch surfaces and shared spaces.
• Safely handle, store, and use cleaning chemicals in accordance with Safety Data Sheets and company procedures.
• Respond to minor spills and report hazardous conditions per protocol.
• Stock and maintain supply rooms.
• Knowledge of and following all health and safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• US Citizenship required.

Qualifications

• Excellent time-management skills and multitasking abilities.
• Good Communication skills.
• Good Organization skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Work Environment

• The performance of this position involves exposure to construction or industrial areas where the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hard hats, and hearing protection is required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks and lift heavy objects 50 lbs. plus.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to sit for long periods of time.
