Janitorial Crew Lead

About the role

Kellermeyer Bergensons Services (KBS) is the largest privately held facility services provider in North America, servicing over 180 million square feet daily across retail, industrial and logistics, healthcare, education, manufacturing, and other key industries. The Team Lead performs crew tasks on site and ensures crew tasks are fully executed. This role interacts with clients to provide professional, responsive customer service; provides direction and task coordination for the assigned crew; ensures crew members understand and follow all policies; collaborates with the crew to coordinate daily operations and resolve deficiencies promptly; assists the supervisor or area manager with new hires and training; ensures team members have the information and tools to perform effectively; and motivates the crew, providing support and clarity while leading by example.

Responsibilities

• Perform crew tasks on site and ensure all crew tasks are fully executed
• Interact with clients to provide professional, responsive customer service as needed
• Provide direction and task coordination for the assigned crew
• Ensure crew members understand and know their responsibilities per each policy
• Collaborate with the crew to coordinate daily operations and resolve deficiencies promptly
• Assist the supervisor or area manager with new hires and training
• Ensure team members have the information and tools to do their jobs effectively; provide clarity and support team member success
• May assist the supervisor or area manager with interviews and training
• Motivate the crew; interact regularly with crew members to provide support and clarity; lead by example

Requirements

• Experience in janitorial operations and distribution center environments preferred
• 1–3 years in a leadership/supervisory role
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and chemical safety data sheets (generally in English; may be available in Spanish where required by state)
• Ability to follow OSHA requirements, safety guidelines, and forklift instructions
• Customer-service oriented with a friendly, positive attitude and the ability to motivate team members and support client requests in an orderly, timely manner
• Must download and use the KBSPresence mobile timekeeping app on a personal mobile device to clock in/out for shifts and breaks (cell phone reimbursement offered per applicable local law)

Pay

Starting pay: $18.66 per hour

Schedule

Available shift: 6:00 am – 11:00 am
