Duties Summary

This position supervises the work of a group of janitors and other custodial personnel in the cleaning and maintenance of buildings and building areas; and perform other related duties as assigned.

This position supervises a crew of 4-6 inmate workers and is responsible for the janitorial and housekeeping functions of the facility including the maintenance of grounds adjacent to buildings, minor repairs and simple building maintenance tasks not requiring trade skill such as carrying and moving heavy furniture and equipment, cleaning place and equipment , etc.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

  • General Experience: TWO (2) YEARS of janitorial or related custodial work such as sweeping, dusting and cleaning of buildings.
  • Supervisory Experience: ONE (1) YEAR of experience which included responsibility for: scheduling and inspecting the work of subordinates, instructing employees in the proper method of performing the work, maintaining discipline, insuring that safety practices are adhered to, keeping records of work activities.
  • Driver's License: Applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
