Janitor on call

Maintain Linen

Make available a quantity of clean linen for proper care and comfort of all residents. Maintain all linen in good repair and remove from service any linen with holes and/or stains.

Laundry Duties

• Collect laundry from residents daily or as needed.
• Label new resident’s clothing items as needed.
• Treat, wash, dry and fold clothing and linens.
• Deliver clean laundry items to resident rooms.

Sanitary Processes

Follows all sanitary processes and procedures related to laundry duties.

Inventory Management

Maintain inventory of laundry supplies.

Equipment Usage

Use all laundry equipment and supplies in a safe manner. Report laundry equipment issues to the Administrator.

Supervisory Requirements

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma
• 1 year of experience preferred

Skills

• Ability to read and understand directions related to laundry/housekeeping procedures
• Basic math skills
• Reasoning ability
• Problem solving ability
• Seek assistance when needed

Physical Demands

• Sometimes lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Regularly sit, stand, walk, and talk
• Frequent use of industrial washers and dryers and related laundry/housekeeping equipment

Work Environment

• The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate
