$25.88 per hour – $28.29 per hour

Schedule

Monday – Friday and weekends, 10:00 am – 6:00 pm

About the role

The Lead Cleaner oversees the daily cleaning tasks of the cleaning/janitorial team while keeping assigned areas—offices, commercial spaces, industrial spaces, or institutional buildings—in a clean and orderly condition. The role works successfully with fellow employees, clients, and all levels of the organization, follows verbal and written instructions, and explains how to complete tasks using basic communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Perform work assignments as part of a team.
• Resolve minor cleaning issues.
• Direct special cleaning projects.
• Train new employees on cleaning procedures and chemicals.
• Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules.
• Take direction and respond to supervision.
• Communicate professionally with the team, co‑workers, managers, and customers.
• Fill in during staff shortages.
• Support the Cleaning Manager in completing punch‑list items.
• Use proper personal protective equipment.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Understand reporting systems and the work environment.
• Maintain a solid commitment to the guest experience and safety first.
• Build respectful relationships with teammates and guests.
• Take directions from the Cleaning Supervisor/Manager.
• Coordinate activities with other internal departments.
• Participate in team meetings.
• Understand customer service and satisfaction, instilling trust.
• Direct special cleaning projects, support and train new cleaners, stock and inventory supply closets.
• Vacuum, edge, dust, clean and stock restrooms and breakrooms, window clean, empty trash and transport to proper disposal, sweep and mop floors.
• Assist the Cleaning Manager with day‑to‑day operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 2+ years of commercial janitorial experience.
• Commitment to safety and compliance with all safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Team‑player attitude in a fast‑paced, quality‑focused environment.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Physical demands & work environment

• Standing 33% of the time; walking >66%; occasional sitting.
• Use of hands for gripping, handling, and feeling.
• Reaching above shoulders, pushing/pulling, and grasping with hands and arms (33‑50% of the time).
• Climbing or balancing <33% of the time.
• Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl <33% of the time.
• Perform repetitive tasks; stand for extended periods.
• Frequent lifts of 0‑10 lb; occasional lifts up to 25 lb; occasional lifts up to 50 lb.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet time deadlines during peak periods.
