JANITOR I

Essential Job Functions

• Cleans, sweeps, dusts, mops, washes, vacuums, polishes, and waxes floors
• Cleans and restocks restrooms, kitchen areas, sidewalks, and windows
• Collects and disposes of trash from building and grounds
• Ensures checklist is up to date and recorded for assigned area
• Unlocks/locks (opens/closes) all doors at the beginning/end of each shift
• Handles various chemicals safely
• Performs unskilled maintenance work such as changing clocks, light bulbs, etc.
• Cleans company car
• Moves furniture and equipment
• Reports incidents and hazardous conditions to Supervisor
• Notifies Supervisor when housekeeping supplies need re-ordering
• Affords assistance training staff as needed

Qualifications

• 1-2 years’ experience and knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment preferred
• Ability to do strenuous work
• Understanding of the upkeep, care, and safe operation of motorized equipment used for cleaning
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
• Janitorial Certification preferred

• This is an FLSA Non-exempt position
• This is not an OSHA high-risk position
• This is a Full Time position
