About the role
The Janitor Floater is an integral member of our commercial cleaning team. You will maintain clean, well-kept facilities by traveling to multiple client sites and completing a variety of cleaning tasks, including restroom sanitation, floor care, and general building upkeep. To succeed in this role, you should be reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Our ideal candidate has previous professional cleaning experience, a personal vehicle, a valid driver's license, and flexible availability.
Location: Troy, MI
Responsibilities
- Travel to multiple client sites in a single shift within your assigned region to provide commercial cleaning services.
- Utilize a Kaivac cleaning system for restroom and surface sanitation.
- General cleaning of the building and keeping it maintained and in good condition.
- Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.
- Cleaning and stock restrooms.
- Empty trash and recycling bins.
- Remove debris and snow from sidewalks.
- Clean outside seating areas and surrounding exterior spaces.
- Ensure doors are locked after hours.
- Clean up spills with appropriate equipment.
- Perform minor repairs.
- Notify supervisors or managers of major repairs.
- Complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
- Keep cleaning supplies in stock.
- Work with a contract cleaning service when necessary.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor.
Requirements
- Must have a personal vehicle and a valid driver's license.
- Able to travel between multiple client sites in a single shift.
- Flexible availability – able to cover shifts as needed.
- Previous professional commercial cleaning experience (preferred).
- Ability to manage your time efficiently.
- Work well when supervisors are not present.
- Able to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies.
- Able to work independently or with a team.
- Able to use basic cleaning equipment.
- High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. (E-Verify used).
Schedule
Guaranteed 15 hours per week, part-time.
