About the role

Amentum is seeking an Industrial Janitor in Vance, AL to provide the cleaning and upkeep of an assigned area for an industrial facility. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains buildings/facilities.
• Performs heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing trash.
• Notifies managers concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
• Complies with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities.
• Cleaner must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks that are assigned.
• Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them. Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Utilizes ladders, dusts and washes furniture, walls, blinds and select equipment; cleans ceilings and dusts light fixtures and ceiling vents.
• Removes stains from surfaces such as carpet, drapes/shades, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• Prepares cleaning solutions per specifications.
• Services, cleans, and supplies restrooms.
• Cleans interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
• Keeps janitor’s closet neat and orderly and maintain equipment in good working order.
• Maintains building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and possibly checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
• Drives vehicles (if required) to perform or travel to other facilities to clean, including vans, industrial trucks, golf carts, or industrial vacuum cleaners.
• Provides special cleaning and support during client events, as needed.
• Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 1 year of relevant experience in industrial or commercial cleaning.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility/security credentials/authorization.
• This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
• May require a valid driver’s license issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
• Some Physical/Special requirements include: repetitive motions, walk extensively throughout the plant during shift, regular lifting up to 30 lbs, work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions, ability to differentiate colors, wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed, cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment.

Qualifications

• Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
