Janitor

About the role

The janitor at Merchants Building Maintenance, LLC is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe, and orderly environment through general cleaning duties, restroom maintenance, trash and waste removal, and breakroom/common areas cleaning. This role also involves following safety procedures, reporting hazards, and adhering to quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
• Dust and wipe down surfaces, furniture, and fixtures
• Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces
• Clean and sanitize toilets, sinks, and counters
• Refill supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper)
• Empty trash and maintain odor control
• Collect and dispose of trash from all designated areas
• Replace liners in trash receptacles
• Handle recycling according to guidelines
• Clean tables, countertops, and appliances (microwave, refrigerator, sink)
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in breakroom/common areas
• Follow all company safety procedures and client guidelines
• Use cleaning chemicals properly and safely
• Report hazards, damages, or maintenance issues promptly
• Complete all assigned tasks per scope of work
• Maintain consistency and attention to detail
• Ensure all areas meet client expectations and inspection standards
• Be reliable and punctual
• Be consistent in completing duties
• Show professional behavior on client sites
• Respond to feedback and corrective actions promptly

Requirements

Qualifications for this position include a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to follow safety procedures and adhere to quality standards. No prior experience is necessary, but some experience in a similar role may be beneficial.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, applicants must pass a finger printing, employment verification, criminal background check, and drug screen. Applicants must also be able to travel as needed.

Skills

Essential skills for this role include attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to follow safety protocols and quality standards. Experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.

Pay
