About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Janitor to join our Facilities team on 2nd shift in Rancho Bernardo, CA. Under close supervision with detailed instructions, this position is responsible for maintaining building, ground and office areas in a clean, orderly and sanitary condition. Performs a combination of routine duties including but not limited to vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, scrubbing, mopping and polishing.
Responsibilities
- Cleans assigned areas according to established standards.
- Sweeps, mops, dusts and vacuums offices, hallways and entrances.
- Polishes furniture, fixtures or trimmings.
- Reports items needing repair and hazardous conditions requiring correction to supervisor.
- Follows established antiseptic techniques and uses appropriate solutions to clean and wash fixtures and restrooms.
- Gathers and disposes of trash.
- Washes and relines waste containers.
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
- Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
- Cleans carpets as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
- Ability to safely operate power equipment.
- Floor care experience preferred, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, stripping, waxing, and buffing hard floors, as well as carpet cleaning (such as shampooing and spot removal).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, including occasional overhead lifting.
- Ability to work independently and to work extended hours as required.
- Valid driver’s license required if operating a company vehicle.
- A valid California driver’s license with a good driving record, as verified by the DMV, may be required.
Pay
Hourly salary range: $35,390 - $52,625
