Janitor

About the role

Provide direct janitorial service by cleaning and maintaining the sales floor and all areas throughout the building. During the Lawn & Garden season, also water plants in addition to regular janitorial and sanitation duties.

Responsibilities

• Clean all surface areas throughout the store including restrooms, break room, offices, warehouse, and sales floor (sweep, mop, dust, wipe, etc.) using designated cleaners, supplies, and equipment for appropriate surfaces.
• Stock restroom supplies (toilet paper, paper towels, etc.) as needed.
• Empty trash cans and replace liners as needed.
• Provide deep cleaning to toilets, urinals, bathroom stalls, sinks, and floor surfaces.
• Maintain a clean environment throughout the entire building.
• In season, water plants in the garden center throughout the day.
• Perform other duties as assigned by store management.

Requirements

• Previous experience in janitorial services is preferred but not required.
• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred but not required.
• Due to the physical nature of this job, must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, stand, walk, climb, crawl, wipe, scrub, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs (most duties require lifting less than 25 lbs).
• Must be able to use proper cleaning tools and equipment needed to perform duties.
