About the role
A Day in the Life of a Janitor/Custodian at CW Resources:
- Start your day by checking in with your supervisor and teammates to go over the cleaning plan.
- Gather cleaning supplies (mops, brooms, vacuums, disinfectants) and load them as needed.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
- Take out trash and replace liners.
- Clean restrooms, refill supplies, and wipe down tables, chairs, doors, and other surfaces.
- Dust furniture, shelves, and vents.
- Wipe windows, mirrors, and glass doors.
- Conduct a final walkthrough to ensure cleanliness before ending your shift.
- Return tools and supplies to storage.
Requirements

- Ability to stay focused and try your best.
- Valid Real ID.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain government base access.
Physical & Environmental Demands
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching to clean and maintain areas.
- Repetitive motions such as mopping, sweeping, wiping, and scrubbing.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and supplies up to 25-30 pounds regularly.
- Navigating stairs, ramps, or uneven flooring while carrying tools or supplies.
- Work primarily indoors in commercial buildings with varying temperature and lighting.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, and solvents (training and PPE provided).
- Possible exposure to dust, dirt, allergens, and biohazardous materials (safety protocols and PPE in place).
- Working in confined or awkward spaces (e.g., under sinks, behind furniture).
- Noise from cleaning machinery (hearing protection provided when necessary).

Pay
$17.84/hour.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Day Shift).
Location: Fort Detrick, MD 21702.
