Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors, partitions, floors, and fixtures.
- Replenish restroom supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, and other consumables.
- Clean offices, conference rooms, reception areas, hallways, and other administrative spaces.
- Dust and disinfect desks, tables, countertops, cabinets, windowsills, and other office furniture as scheduled.
- Empty trash and recycling containers throughout the facility and dispose of waste in designated collection areas.
- Vacuum carpets, sweep, mop, and maintain hard surface floors to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Clean break rooms, including tables, countertops, sinks, microwaves, refrigerators (as required), and other common-use areas.
- Maintain janitorial closets, cleaning carts, and equipment in clean, organized, and operational condition.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and notify the supervisor when replenishment is needed.
- Replenish all conference room coffee items, like sugar, coffee, cream, cups, stirs, etc.
- Report facility maintenance issues such as plumbing leaks, clogged drains, damaged fixtures, lighting problems, broken dispensers, or other building deficiencies.
- Follow all company safety procedures, including the proper handling, storage, and use of cleaning chemicals in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing assigned duties.
- Support special cleaning projects and additional housekeeping assignments as requested.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while working in office areas.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous janitorial, custodial, or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
- Ability to safely operate standard cleaning equipment, including vacuums, floor scrubbers, mops, and related tools.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive physical activities throughout the workday.
- Basic understanding of safe chemical handling and cleaning procedures.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred (could also be secondary school).
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning methods and sanitation practices.
- Knowledge of proper use, storage, and disposal of cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize daily cleaning tasks efficiently.
- Ability to identify unsafe conditions and report maintenance concerns promptly.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
