Actylis is seeking a Janitor to maintain a clean, safe, and organized manufacturing environment throughout the facility, including production areas, warehouses, offices, laboratories, locker rooms, lunchrooms, and washrooms. This role supports compliance with company safety standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) where applicable, and environmental regulations while ensuring a safe and professional workplace.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize offices, meeting rooms, breakrooms, locker rooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, and polish floors.
• Empty waste and recycling containers and dispose of materials in designated areas.
• Clean windows, walls, doors, and other facility surfaces.
• Replenish washroom and cleaning supplies as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness in production and warehouse areas in accordance with established procedures.
• Remove debris, packaging materials, and non-hazardous waste from work areas.
• Clean equipment exteriors and designated plant areas as assigned.
• Support shutdown and deep-cleaning activities when required.
• Assist with spill response and housekeeping activities under established safety procedures.
• Comply with all company Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS), and Quality requirements.
• Follow Safe Work Procedures and use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Report unsafe conditions, incidents, equipment damage, or maintenance concerns immediately.
• Safely handle cleaning chemicals and maintain proper storage of cleaning supplies.
• Participate in safety meetings and training programs.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, vacuums, and pressure washers.
• Maintain cleaning equipment in good working condition.
• Assist with facility setup and special housekeeping projects.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience Qualifications – Required(R)/Preferred(P):
  • Specific Experience (Required): Previous janitorial, industrial cleaning, manufacturing, or warehouse experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a chemical manufacturing or industrial environment is an asset.
• Other Experience/Competencies (Preferred):
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and safety practices.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace cleanliness.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety and chemical handling procedures.

Physical Demand

The physical demands include regularly sitting; using hands to finger, handle, or feel; reaching with hands and arms; and talking and hearing. Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, or balance. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to work in environments where chemicals are handled and there is exposure to heat, cold, and noisy conditions while wearing required PPE.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays as required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Pay

The salary range for the position of Janitor is $20 per hour. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity and other factors as permitted by law. This salary range is provided in good faith and is intended to display the value of the company's base pay compensation for all statewide locations across the United States. Salary is dependent on a multitude of factors, including but not limited to the physical worksite location, candidate's skill set, level of experience, education, and internal peer compensation comparisons.
