About the Role

Perform a full range of custodial duties related to the cleaning of an adolescent residential substance abuse treatment facility. Act as a role model for patients and remain alert to unusual activities, reporting them to management in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restroom facilities and fixtures including sinks, urinals, and toilets; wash windows, mirrors, and walls; clean and sanitize showers as assigned; replenish supplies in the restrooms.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors.
• Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment; clean desks and counter tops.
• Empty, clean, and sanitize waste receptacles; pick up papers and other debris.
• Move and arrange furniture and equipment and set up rooms for conferences and meetings.
• Replace lights and adjust shades and blinds.
• Regulate ventilation and temperature; clean air vents as required.
• Identify and report building maintenance needs in assigned buildings and facilities.
• Monitor building security and safety by being alert to and reporting any unusual activities, locking doors after operating hours, and checking electrical appliance use to ensure no hazards are created.
• Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a custodial role.

Work Environment

This job operates in an indoor office environment. Routinely uses standard cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops, wax, polish, and cleaning solutions.
