About the role

The Janitor at Central City Concern’s 16 x Burnside Recovery Center is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents. Duties include cleaning various areas, assisting with training, and conducting safety inspections.

Responsibilities

• Affirmatively assess buildings for hazards and fire code violations.
• Submit and track maintenance requests.
• Lead and train trainees and on-call workers.
• Clean lobbies, hallways, unoccupied offices, bathrooms, common areas, and residential rooms.
• Assist with janitorial duties at various locations.
• Identify and remove pests such as roaches and bed bugs.
• Complete all necessary paperwork.
• Deliver supplies and equipment.
• Inventory, label, and store tenant’s properties.
• Attend all required meetings and training.
• Adhere to safety procedures.
• Manage time and meet deadlines.
• Interact courteously with the public.

Requirements

• At least six months experience in interior and exterior janitorial cleaning and pest control.
• Trained or able to be trained in bio-hazard cleanup.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen, TB test, and background check.
• Ability to work in all CCC Housing buildings and outside locations.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• Ability to walk, bend, stoop, lift, and carry 10 to 30 pounds frequently.
• Ability to do overhead work.
• Ability to interact courteously with the public.
• Ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
• Ability to complete all necessary paperwork.
• Ability to comprehend and apply written and oral instruction.
• Ability to work in all adverse weather conditions.

Pay

$22.73 - $30.15/hour. Final comp will be determined based on relevant experience, education, credentials/licensure, and internal equity.

Schedule

Wednesday-Sunday, 11:30am - 8:00pm, (Monday & Tuesdays Off)
