Dr. Marcelo Pasquini has been appointed as the new Director of the Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program at Cleveland Clinic, succeeding Jame Abraham, who is the Chairman and Professor at the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology.

Responsibilities

• Leading the Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program
• Serving as the scientific director for several CIBMTR (Center for International Blood & Marrow Transplant Research) working committees
• Overseeing numerous registry-based studies published in high-impact journals
• Principal investigator on the Cellular Immunotherapy Data Resource (CIDR) grant
• Co-principal investigator on the CIBMTR infrastructure grant, focusing on the Adoptive Cell Therapy agenda
• Investigator on the Data Coordinating Center grant of the Blood and Marrow Transplant Clinical Trials Network (BMT CTN)
• Protocol officer for practice-changing national protocols
• Scientific director for the BMT CTN Myeloma Intergroup Committee

• Recognized nationally and internationally as a clinical investigator
• Sought-after speaker at scientific meetings worldwide
• Earned medical degree from the State University of Londrina in Brazil
• Completed residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital at the University of Miami
• Obtained fellowships in Hematology and Oncology at the University of Utah and Medicine, Neoplastic Diseases, and Related Disorders at the Medical College of Wisconsin
• Obtained MS in Epidemiology
